The inaugural session of the Visiting Program for Young Sinologists was launched with an official opening ceremony at the Beijing Jinglun Hotel on July 2, 2014. The program is co-sponsored by the China Ministry of Culture (CMC) and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Ding Wei, vice-minister of CMC, and Li Yang, vice-president of CASS, addressed the opening ceremony.

18 carefully selected young sinologists from 15 countries, including USA, France, Kazakhstan, India and Korea, have been invited to participate in the program. Research and study fields will cover Chinese literature, history, philosophy, art, language, politics, contemporary society and international relations.
