Forty Landscapes in the Old Summer Palace, the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912)

Forty Landscapes in the Old Summer Palace was drawn by two royal painters, Shen Yuan and Tang Dai, during the reign of the Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. The poem created by the Emperor Qianlong on the painting was inked by Wang Youdun.

This painting was stolen by invaders when the Anglo-French Allied Force burned the Old Summer Palace in 1860 and was dedicated to French Emperor Napoleon III. Now it is exhibited in Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the French National Library.
