Artists from the China National Opera House (CNOH) were performing Mozart’s famous opera, The Marriage of Figaro, at a commemorative concert to kick off the 22nd anniversary of the establishment of the China Cultural Center in Seoul on Nov 17.
Nearly 2,000 in the audience were treated to performances that not only included classical operas, but also Chinese traditional operas.
Speaking after the performance, Qiu Guohong, ambassador of the Chinese Embassy to South Korea, said China and South Korea have witnessed fruitful results since the establishment of China-South Korea diplomatic ties. The China Cultural Center in Seoul, as a platform for cooperation and exchanges, connects the two sides and promotes understanding and mutual trust.
Yu Feng, president of the CNOH, said CNOH has been committed to spreading the fine arts. South Korea is home to many excellent artists and troupes. CNOH’s first visit in Seoul will promote fine arts exchanges between the two sides.
