The Third Biennial of Chinese Traditional Painting opened on Dec 23 at the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, and will last until March 8. On display are more than 500 artworks by 36 artists.
This year's exhibition showcases the album, one of the most intimate of Chinese painting formats. Each turn of the page in the album provides an opportunity to remake the world anew and presents unique possibilities and challenges for artists.
Since 2011, the Biennial of Chinese Traditional Painting has become the art's largest and most influential biennial event.
