The Kiev Ballet will visit Beijing and perform the full-leng th ballet classic Swan Lake. Established in 1860, the troupe has built an international reputation with fine ballet performances and notable dancers, including Serge Lifar and Maya Pisetskaya.

Love ballads, folk songs
Taiwan singer-songwriter Jonathan Lee will perform in concert in Beijing. Known for his love ballads and folk songs about daily lives, the 56-year-old will sing his own hits and popular songs that he wrote for other singers.

National treasures
The National Museum of China boasts an immense collection of more than 30,000 pieces of ancient inscriptions and calligraphy, which are presented via a wide range of media from oracle bones, bronzeware to bamboo and paper. Of the 120 pieces on show, highlights include Chunhua Ge Fa Tie, a calligraphy album of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279) and masterpieces by noted calligraphers.
