The most famous dance troupe in Egypt, the Reda Troupe for Folkloric Arts, gave a fantastic show in Beijing at the National Centre for the Performing Arts on Feb 24.
The troupe staged 12 traditional Egyptian dances, which were performed at the highest level of Egyptian folk dance and with an exotic atmosphere. After their debut in Beijing, the Egyptian dancers gave two performances in Guangzhou.
The Reda Troupe for folkloric arts was founded by Mahmoud Reda in 1959. Mahmoud Reda was lead dancer until 1972. He taught the dancers and directed all stage performances. With his groundbreaking choreography, he created a new dance form, incorporating many diverse styles. Up to now, the troupe has performed more than 3,000 shows all over the world.
