En attendant Godot is exceptionally hard to transcend in the history of drama. Samuel Becket, the famous Irish playwright, used a ridiculous story and illogical lines to display the situation human beings are trapped in, which changed people’s understanding and imagination of drama playing with tectonic influence.
Two vagrants were waiting for Godot, who never appeared at all. A boy arrived, saying Godot would show up the next day. The next day re-peated almost the same story, except for four or five more leaves on the tree. When the drama centers in waiting, it actually points to the question of “what on earth do human beings live for”.
It is not easy to interpret the profound meaning, nor acting it out. Two vagrants were talking nonsense, which seemed hypnotizing for the au-dience. It is said that, one hundred versions of performing this drama means one hundred methods of making audience sleepy. For excellent actors, En attendant Godot is like a high mountain which everyone is salaciously pawing at and desperately desiring to climb.
Now, this Taiwanese group directed by Jin Shijie and Wu Guoxing pre-sents its own version, a special experience of “Alzheimer's disease”.
