The festival will last for a month. Activities like an art exhibition, Buddhist culture display and lectures on Buddhism will be held.
Visitors also can see a rare artifact, a piece of the skull of Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, enshrined in the underground palace of the Foding Palace at the Mount Niushou Relics Park.
