During the opening ceremony at the grand theater of Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Aug 12, 44 youth artists from 20 countries along the Silk Road will present a diverse repertoire including modern Chinese songs, popular ballads, classic world famous musicals and even an especially designed "Silk Road Chorus".
During the closing ceremony at the lyric theater of Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center on Aug 27, a concert featuring classic Chinese musical instruments will be held, which centers on "Silk Road, Linking Chinese People". The Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble, a characteristic Hong Kong music troupe, which has creatively inherited and spread Hong Kong native music such as Cantonese and Chiuchow music, will attend the concert. The music troupe will exhibit Hong Kong's cultural idea "tradition in modernity, modernity in tradition" by performing traditional Chinese musical instruments as well as modern musical instruments, which is a response to the event's call "Inherit and Spread, Youth Silk Road".
