The 2016 China-Mongolia Culture Year held its opening ceremony in Arkhangai province, Mongolia, on August 4.
Xing Haiming, Chinese ambassador to Mongolia, along with Li Wei, director of the China Cultural Center in Mongolia and some 2,000 Mongolian officials and representatives from local governments and other institutions attended the opening ceremony.
Xing expressed his best wishes to the friendship between China and Mongolia. He said the two countries have made a remarkable cooperation on culture and education and the Cultural Year marks a new start for the future promotion of mutual relations.
The ceremony featured a series of performances given by Chinese and Mongolian artists. Tangka art works from Qinghai province and books about Mongolia published by Chinese press were showcased in Arkhangai on the same day.
