In celebration of the 45th anniversary of China-Belgium diplomatic ties, the exhibition, with facilitating exchanges in mind, showcased twelve 12 exquisite glass artworks of two Taiwan artists, Zhang Yi and his wife Yang Huishan. The couple is often known as "trailblazer of modern glass art". They look up to the Art Nouveau sweeping Europe and pay homage to European glass art through their works.
As the best of innovated traditional Chinese art, their works are not only technically unparalleled, but in line with oriental philosophy. Some are housed by the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, the National Art Museum of China and the Corning Museum of Glass.
The exhibition was co-hosted by the Centre of International Cultural Exchange and the Liuli China Museum.
