Ten Days of a Shipwrecked Sailor
2017 is the fifty years anniversary since Colombian literary master and Nobel laureate Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude was first published. The novel is widely considered as one of the most important literary classics of 20th century. Meanwhile, the non-fiction book written by García Márquez when he was a young journalist will soon meet its Chinese readers. The book is The Story of a Shipwrecked Sailor, which is an excellent journalistic report for all time, a luminous narrative that rivals the most remarkable stories of man's struggles against the sea, and a herald of a future literary master.
In order to observe this event, “Meeting with Beijing” invites experts, scholars, and translators to come together and talk about the literary master and his writings.
