Cultural cooperation has been highlighted at this year's BRICS Summit. As a major part of the summit, the BRICS Cultural Festival and Photo Exhibition was launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping and other BRICS leaders in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, on Sept 4, 2017.
Designed to enhance multilateral communication under the BRICS framework, more than 30 activities, including performances, exhibitions and film screenings, will be held in Xiamen for free.
Top-tier artists are invited for the cultural festival. From Sept 15 to 22, more than 200 artists from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will participate. Troupes from each BRICS country will bring their most representative work.
