Art Troupe of the Political Department of the Chinese People's Armed Police

The Art Troupe of the Political Department of the Chinese People's Armed Police was founded in May 1983.

The Art troupe has staged many gala performances such as Spring Breeze, Spring Ran and Spring Tide, Soldier's Life, Friendship Between Soldiers, the Charm of Color Green and Ode to the Flag. In October 1994, the art troupe's Special Gala Performance Feelings of the Revolutionary Guards was attended by Chinese Resident Jiang Zemin. In 1997, the troupe's large-scale situation song and dance drama Soldiers under the National Hag won the special award of the Eighth Wenhua New Drama Awards issued by the Ministry of Culture during the Fifth China Art Festival in 1998, the art troupe, together with the Song and Dance Ensemble of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, produced a large-scale historical opera Qu Yuan and was highly praised by the State leaders and drama experts. Besides, the troupe has created many prize-winning and popular music works such as Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Mother Advises the Son to Be a Soldier, Gold Shuttle and Silver Shuttle, Beautiful Soul, Song of Toast, Beat the Tamboume, Sing A Song, Blue Sky, Blue Sea, A Dialogue with the Moon and dance performance Crimson Flower-dressed Mountains, Little Cavaliers; Story-telling program Target Upright in the Front, Speech on the National Flag, among others.

Famous artists with the art troupe include Han Wei, Jin Fenghao, Zhang Qianyi, Yuan Ye, Nie Jianhua, Guo Gongfang, Jiang Tao and Li Qi.
