Qingdao Municipal Peking Opera Group

The Qingdao Municipal Peking Opera Group, previously the Qingdao Peking Opera Troupe, was established in June 1950. It now consists of a Peking Opera troupe and a youth Peking Opera troupe.

The repertoire of the two troupes includes Sorrow of the Conquered Wu Kingdom,: Kingdoms Chun and Han at War, Dragon and Phoenix, Signs of Auspiciousness, Women Generals of the Yang Family, Xue Pinggui and Wang Baochai, Yang Silang Visits His Mother, qing xianglian, Yu Tangchun, Bao Zheng, Eighteen Arhats Fight Against the Monkey King, Burning Pei Yuangqing to Death, Peking operas of the Yan school Zhuge Liang Pays A Condolence Call, Ceding the City of Xuzhou, Battle at Beiyuan, Bai-di Town; Peking operas of the Tang Yusheng school The Execution of General Han Xin, The Killing of Wife; Peking operas of the Gao school Cao Cao Coerces Royalties, and A Rouge-colored Ruse.

The two art troupes have visited some foreign countries including Japan, Ukraine and the Republic of Korea.

The theater employs such famous Peking opera actors as first grade actors Ren Dechuan, Wu Ping, Ma Rongzhen and Bi Xinmin.
