Huadeng Opera Troupe of Guizhou Province

The Huadeng Opera Troupe of Guizhou Province was founded in May 1956. Over the past 40 years since its founding, the Troupe has created, adapted and staged many regional Huadeng operas and Huadeng songs and dances. Some of its programs and operas have won various prizes. For example, Legend of Huadeng Opera Band won the first prize of 2^ndGuizhou Drama Literature Award. A Typical Family won the prize for best performance at the Contemporary National Opera Festival. An Orange Town won the second prize of Guizhou Drama Literature Award. Wujiang River Clouds and Bashan Mountain Rain, created in the 1990s, won the prizes for best performance, best play, and best music at the National Opera Festival.

Major artists of the Troupe include first grade performer Luo Jiangyu, Zhang Xiaoxian, Ye Yinfei and Yan Huaping.
