Luisella Mazza, head of Global Operations, Google Arts & Culture:
We put six million artworks online
"There are more than six million images on our platform and we are organizing more than 9,000 digital exhibitions and stories told by expert curators from around the world to help us better understand what's behind what we actually see on the platform."
Mazza said Google Arts & Culture has cooperated with more than 1,700 museums, cultural institutions and galleries globally to put their collections online, including 29 from China.
For better interaction with users, the company launched the "art selfie" feature on its app in 2018 which allows users to take selfies and instantly match them with famous portraits. "This is one of the many new ways that brings arts and people together through technology."
