Viacom International Media Networks, a division of Viacom Inc, recently started a four-week program in kids’ animation development with the Communication University of China under its Nickelodeon brand. The program is supported by Wellcome Forefront (Beijing) Culture Media Corp.
Chinese students will learn from international experts in areas of animation production, such as storytelling, character development and animation skills.
The program will be attended by undergraduates of animation degrees at the School of Animation and Digital Art, marking the first time that the Communication University of China has taken an international academic program as a core module for its students.
Last year, a summer workshop of the Nickelodeon program was established at the university.
The university’s vice-president, Duan Peng, said it’s the most extensive international academic program conducted at the university. He hopes that the program will inspire their students to become good storytellers and make excellent content for the animation industry.
