Hundreds of revelers in the Czech capital Prague and two other cities have been fascinated by Chinese New Year celebration featuring art performance and traditional culture presentations. This year, China Zhejiang Wu Opera Troupe brought classic Chinese music genres, dances, acrobatics and performances with traditional musical instruments to the audiences from city of Prague, Ostrava and Olomouc. Czech artists were also invited to the stage, singing with them Czech songs including Promeny.
The four-day event also offers calligraphy and martial arts presentations, tea ceremony and food stands with traditional Chinese snacks such as dumplings, boiled or fried.
The fifth Chinese New Year celebration, which started on Jan 25 and ended on Jan 28, is sponsored by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Czech Cultural Ministry, the Embassy of China in the Czech Republic, and local governments of Moravian-Silesian region and Olomouc.
