China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched a performance season of domestic theatrical works to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC) this year.
A total of 20 fine domestic theatrical works are scheduled to be staged in Beijing from March 2 to 31, including traditional Chinese operas, musicals and symphonies.
Most of the works are themed on the country's revolutionary history or significant contributors to the country's development since the PRC was founded in 1949.
The performances are available to audiences at a fair price, with over half of the tickets priced less than 100 yuan ($14.9).
