The UK will have a major presence at the 2019 Beijing Expo, where it will exhibit the latest in UK innovation and garden design.
The UK exhibition will be themed “Innovating for a Greener Future”, supporting the overall expo theme, “Live Green, Live Better”. The UK garden and pavilion will occupy a space of 2,000 square meters.
With sustainability at heart, the UK garden and pavilion is built with recyclable structures to lower carbon emissions. The space will include a colorful meadow, a wooded area, and grasses and scented flowers designed to attract pollinators, critical to the food chain. A “Living Lab” area will show visitors new methods and techniques in horticulture and food production.
“The UK is honored to be part of the Beijing Expo, which will further strengthen our green partnership with China. UK and China collaboration is already helping to tackle sustainability challenges including climate change and carbon emissions,” said Dame Barbara Woodward, UK ambassador to China.
