"The inspiration for Sun Cycle comes from observing nature and the feeling that we are only really aware on a very surface level of what is really going on around us," Shearn says. "I hope the contrasting rhythm of this artwork with the hustle and bustle of Beijing brings visitors a sense of tranquility and adds something unique and positive to the urban environment."
Meadow by Studio Drift's artists Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta, features 18 flowers hanging upside down, blossoming and closing up at a gentle pace. With built-in motion sensors, more flowers would come into bloom when more people approach.
