The 11th China International Folk Art Festival, organized by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the government of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will be held in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia over Aug 23-28.
The event, which was first held in 1990, aims to spread traditional Chinese culture, promote folk art communication and showcase the diversity of the world's folk art.
Over 300 artists from 13 countries have been invited to take part in the festival this year. And some of them are from countries along the Belt and Road routes, like Russia, Uzbekistan and Iran, while others are considered to be "new friends" and will come for the first time.
Many domestic artist groups and members of the Wulanmuqi Art Troupe from Hohhot will give performances in many regions and counties of Hohhot during the festival.
