War film The Sacrifice continued to lead the daily box office chart of the Chinese mainland on Friday, generating more than 14.91 million yuan (about $2.25).
This brought the film's total box office revenue since its Oct 23 release to around 945 million yuan, the China Movie Data Information Network said Saturday.
Set in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953), the film is co-directed by Guan Hu, the director of this year's blockbuster war epic The Eight Hundred.
The inspirational film Find Your Voice ranked second, grossing about 6.86 million yuan on its opening day. It revolves around a famous international choir conductor leading a group of students to learn chorus from scratch, during which they face the setbacks and challenges of life together, and finally find themselves in music.
Coming in third was American superhero film Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, which raked in about 6.81 million yuan on the fifth day of its screening.
