An exhibition on the development of Chinese drawing over the past 100-plus years has opened at the National Museum of China.
More than 280 fine sketches created by over 120 Chinese modern and contemporary artists, including household names such as Xu Beihong, Pan Yuliang and Liu Haisu, are on display, most of which are being exhibited for the first time.
Divided into five sections, the exhibition showcases various stages of the development of Chinese sketch art with representative artists and their works.
It also highlights the artistic creativity born from integrating Chinese traditions with Western forms of art, according to a museum staff member.
The exhibition will last until Jan 30, 2021.
