To celebrate International Volunteer Day on Dec 5, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation set up the China Center for Juvenile Volunteering, which will help cultivate well-rounded teenagers in volunteer service.
The center aims to boost young people's participation in volunteer service, improve related training systems and encourage international exchanges in the field.
Jing Dunquan, vice chairman of the foundation, said the COVID-19 pandemic has brought new challenges and opportunities to juvenile volunteering. To this end, CCJV will gather experts in volunteering and further collaborate with the United Nations Volunteers program to share China's experience and achievements in organizing volunteer services.
During the center's launch event, manuals and video tutorials for instruction on teenagers' involvement in volunteer service were also released.
