A number of key national and provincial-level projects have been formulated to build a Great Wall-themed national culture park, according to China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
For example, 45 projects with a total investment of 28.74 billion yuan (about 4.39 billion U.S. dollars) have been proposed for the sections of the Great Wall in north China's Hebei Province, according to data released at a meeting held in Hebei's city of Qinhuangdao.
The ministry had offered guidance and coordination to 15 provincial regions along the cultural heritage to help draft their respective plans under the national culture park.
At the meeting, Hu Heping, minister of culture and tourism, also urged greater efforts in promoting the preservation of the Great Wall, as well as related research and tourism.
