This is the second video in the lecture series about the development of Chinese clothing, hosted by fashion designer and lecture Chu Yan.
In this video she discusses the earliest forms of clothing, and invention of spinning and weaving technologies marking the beginning of civilisational etiquette. It's fascinating to hear the significance given to upper and lower clothing, and the relationship with the ancient Chinese philosophy that "man and nature are one" (天人合一) reflected in clothing.
