Located in Huozhou, Shanxi province, Huozhoushu (ancient government office of Huozhou) was established in Tang dynasty. Covering an area of 38,500 square meters, Huozhoushu comprises buildings built in Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The location, scale, distribution, and design of Huozhoushu are the best among all existing ancient government offices of the same level. Thus, it is considered as the most complete one in China.

It is said that the Huozhoushu was originally the government office of General Yuchi Gong in Tang dynasty. There are three groups of buildings distributing on the central axes and the line stretching from west to east. The ancient buildings on the central axes are well preserved.
