The city has an altitude of 3,650 meters, situated in the central part of the Tibetan Plateau, on the north side of the Himalayas. Lhasa is well-known around the world for its picturesque scenery, long history, and unique customs that are deeply influenced by religion.
Lhasa has a large number of world cultural heritage sites: the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Norbulingka. Barkhor Street also attracts many tourists for shopping and browsing local products.
