Deputy Minister of Culture Ding Wei said at the opening ceremony: “Sinologists of the older generation played an important role in the study of China. Currently we need to let the young generation have a more comprehensive and objective understanding of China’s politics, culture and economy.”
“Every participant in the training can be called an ambassador, because we already know about China, and fell in love with China.” said Jona Puri, a lecturer in the Department of International Relations and Political Science at Indonesia University. In this regard, the executive chairman of the Cross-Pacific Association of Chile, Sinologist Karina said she appreciated that and added “I will bring back the Chinese language and culture to my country, hoping to train a new generation of young Chileans who love China.”
A research director at the Institute of Public Administration of Kazakhstan said that Kazakhstan can learn a lot from China about running a country. He said: “We learned from the training that the Chinese Dream embodies the principle of peace and of win-win, which can enlighten the entire world.”
At the training program’s graduation ceremony, Secretary General Gao Xiang said on behalf of CASS that Sinology is an important bridge to strengthen communication and enhance mutual understanding. It is expected that more young Sinologists in the future will be involved in the training program to promote foreign exchanges. According to reports, the 2nd “2014 Young Sinologists Training Program” will be held in September, when 40 young people from around the world will come to China.
