Twisted fetal porcelain is a precious kind of porcelain that arose in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). It reached its peak in the Song Dynasty (960-1279); meanwhile, Boshan was one of the vital kilns of that time. Evidence from excavated twisted fetal porcelain relics show that this ancient handicraft was lost after the Event of Jingkang, which makes it very rare nowadays.
