A Corner of Lingyanjian Ravine, Pan Tianshou
|
Pan painted this work after his journey to the Yandang Mountain in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. It gives viewers an up-close perspective on a landscape in which flowers were naturally dispersed. Under Pan's bold and energetic brush strokes, the rocks, mostly in geometrical shapes, add much power to the painting.
Pan expresses the aloof attitude of Chinese scholars, but more importantly, he displays a simple and unadorned painting style that brings a touch of freshness and vigor. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]
