“I was astonished and proud to see the characters that I created so vividly recreated on stage, and appreciated by so many people,” says John Waters. “I pray for the success of ‘Hairspray’ and if it succeeds, talented fat girls will find their roles to play.”
Lead Brooklynn Pulver, from Salt Lake City, Utah, was trained by Anne Bogart and graduated from Utah State University in theater arts. Her credits include the leading role of Audrey in the musical “Little Shop of Horrors,” Susan in “The Full Monty” and Sister Leo in the musical revue “Nunsense.”
