Jiangxi cultural month opened at the Capital Museum in Beijing on March 1, 2014, and will run for three months ending in May. This is by far the biggest event of its kind to be held in the capital city in Jiangxi history. Top national treasures will make their Beijing debut, and high-quality cultural arts will come into bloom.

Seven performances and four exhibitions will take place during the three month long event, including operas, plays, Jiangxi dramas and Pingxiang tea-picking play. Audiences will also have opportunities to enjoy the ancient Jiangxi Cultural Relics Exhibition, the new period Artists Works Exhibition, Nanchang Porcelain Painting Exhibition and the Jingdezhen Ceramic Arties Exhibition.

Over 160 items from museums around the world have been brought together for the first time for this display, and span time periods from the Stone Age to the Qing Dynasty. China is famous of porcelain. As we all know, the English word CHINA is not only the national name of our country, but also the appellation of porcelain. The pronunciation derived from the town "Changnan". The Changnan town is also known as Jingdezhen, the Capital of Ceramics.

Culture month presents Chinese elements and Chinese symbols. It not only includes the dynamic action behind the communication of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH), but also contains the innovative techniques of ceramics production in Jingdezhen.

"To hold 'Jiangxi culture month' is to bridge a platform with Beijing so that we can strengthen the trans-regional cultural cooperation and to further enhance the brand of "the Jiangxi landscape which is beyond comparison'," said Zhu Hon, deputy governor of Jiangxi province, at the opening ceremony of Culture Month of Jiangxi at the Capital Museum, "Culture month also serves as the window by exhibiting Jiangxi's spirituality --- opening-up, cooperation , pragmatism and innovation."
