The first, second and third prize as well as six single awards were chosen after one round of auditions, 10 rounds of preliminaries, and two days of finals. Korean player Jee Won Kim won the first prize and Classical Music Prize, while Japanese player Naoka Aoki won second prize. Russian player Fedor Roudine won the third prize, Romantic Music Prize and Home Country Music Prize. Jiang Yiying, the youngest player in this competition, was awarded the Best Chinese Competitor Prize.
The China International Violin Competition, established in 2005, has attracted more and more foreign violin players. The competition aims to promote the development of the Chinese music education system and set up a platform to present more excellent Chinese musical works to the international arena. The Chinese International Violin Competition, China International Vocal Competition and China International Piano Competition have been accepted into the international music competition league, which greatly improves China’s status in the field of world music.
