( 2005-09-13 )
The Uygur people, both old and young, men and women, like to wear the four- or five-angled embroidered hat all year round. These hats have become the symbol of the Uygur people.
The Uygur hats, known as "dopa," are exquisite handicrafts articles. Made with exquisite workmanship, they are brightly colored and decorated with beads.
The chief varieties of Uyghur hats are Badam hats, Tashigan and Gelem hats, Qiman hats, Zir hats, and Marjan hats. In addition, there are Gouhua, Bexitala dopa, Mengist dopa, Seripxitumak hats, and so on.
The four- or five-angled embroidered hats are not only important ornaments for the everyday life of the Uygurs, but also serve as valuable gifts for relatives and friends.
