On behalf of the Chinese Government, I extend my warmest welcome and best wishes to the permanent ambassadors to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), representatives of UNESCO and artists from both home and abroad who attend the Festival!
The intangible cultural heritage is a crucial component of human civilization. As a direct witness and the memory of the historical progress of humanity, it embodies the wisdom and spirit of a nation. The protection of intangible cultural heritage is significant to the maintenance of cultural diversity and the building of a harmonious world, thus is a common cause for all nations.
China is a country with a long history and an ancient civilization. It has various kinds of intangible cultural heritage, which is highly valued by the Chinese Government. This festival is a good example that shows China’s determination and achievements in the protection of its intangible cultural heritage. The Chinese Government will make more contributions to the protection and preservation of world civilization through cooperation with other countries.
We wish the Festival a great success!
