The 5.12 earthquake-stricken areas also display their efforts towards saving and protecting intangible cultural heritage.The protection of the cultural surroundings and ecological environment of the Qiang ethnic group is the main content of this section, which catches visitors’ eyes by the skillful performances of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage. Chengdu, Dujiangyan, Mianyang, Deyang, Ya'an, Pengzhou…these earthquake-afflicted areas respectively have opened exhibition halls in this section.
By the means of themed exhibitions, the exhibition hall for exhibiting and selling special products aims at introducing local intangible cultural heritage across China. Items from different regions ranked in the list of ICH reflect the local traditional crafts and arts; visitors can appreciate them by watching the making process on the spot or by buying them.
To better showcase the fruit of the protection of intangible cultural heritage, this expo adopts a large number of pictures, material objects, interactive performances and live shows to highlight its engaging and artistic quality.
