The contest, an Expo-related event, had received 1,046 entries from around the world since May 1, the first day of Expo 2010. It was sponsored by Sweco, a Swedish consulting firm, and Tierra Grande, a communications company owned by photographer and filmmaker Mattias Klum.

The jury consisted of Mattias Klum, Bob Lee, a professor with Konstfack University's College of Arts, Crafts and Design, Annika Rembe, Sweden's commissioner general for Expo 2010, and Eva Nygren, president of Sweco Sweden.

The winning works are impressive and vivid representation of the close relationship between humans and the nature, Klum said.

The six photographers are Wu Yongsheng, Liu Shenchao, Chen Tianshi from China, Kimball Schmidt from the US, Ashkan Shafaati from Dubai and Daniel Johansson from Sweden.

Their pictures will be displayed at the Museum of Modern Art and Architecture in Stockholm in November after their exhibition at the Sweden Pavilion.
