In order to implement the spirit of Opinions of the General Office of State Council on Strengthening the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China, Ministry of Culture started the declaration and assessment of the second batch of natioanl ICH catalogue in 2007.
According to the requirements of Interim Measures on the Declaration and Assessment of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative, Ministry of Culture organized related experts to evaluate 2,540 projects declared by 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps of CPLA , Macau Special Administrative Region and central institutions.
According to the assessment and recognition of the project value, National ICH Catalogue Assessment Committee proposed the demonstration project list of the second batch of national ICH catalogue. 564 projects were added to the134 projects in the first batch of national ICH catalogue.
The demonstration project list of the second batch of national ICH catalogue will be published for 30 days.
After the announcement of the first national ICH list in 2006, the awareness of ICH protection of cadres and the public has been enhanced greatly and local departments also paid attention to the excavation, saving, and protection work of ICH.
