As part of the Ice and Snow Festival of Beijing's Pinggu District, the Yuyang Ski Resort will officially open its doors to ski lovers this weekend.
Situated a mere one-hour drive to the east of downtown Beijing, Yuyang Ski Resort provides a nice combination of both convenience and snowy fun.
The resort lies about 70 kilometers northeast of the city center. The ski slopes lay on the slopes of Qinglong Mountain in Pinggu District, a national AAAA scenic spot according to the China National Tourism Administration.
Four different hills with varying degrees of difficulty are served by seven lifts. It usually takes as long as 25 minutes to get to the top of the slope.
The ski resort is a huge ski complex featuring ski area, eco-restaurants, hotel and other snow activities.
Price: 238 yuan for a weekend, including transportation and basic equipment rental fees; 158 yuan for a weekday.
How to get there: Shuttle bus departs at Dongzhimen every day at 8:00 a.m. and returns at 4:00 p.m.
