The 19th French Activities Festival is set to commence later this March with hundreds of activities scheduled to take place across the country which will include held movie screenings, concerts, exhibitions, college competitions and public lectures.

According to festival organizers, the program will last two weeks, This year the “French Movies” section will include nearly 20 films from France, Canada, Belgium, Austria and other countries, at the same time five foreign directors will come to China to introduce their work.

People in Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Nanjing and other nine cities will have the chance to watch films for free. Besides, after the national tour was a succes last year, “Chansons in March” will offer audients more than 40 wonderful musical performances in 14 cities.

The Festival of French Activity came into being initially due to an initiative from various French counties, members of OTF and embassies and officers in China. Until now, many foreign diplomatic and cultural agencies have joined this festival. The Activity Festival offers an opportunity for the non-French public to discover more about French culture.
