Finnish game-maker Rovio Entertainment is partnering with China's Guogou Group to open nine theme parks based on its megahit mobile game, "Angry Birds."
The first attraction is set to open in Anhui province over the next four years, according to a statement from Rovio.
The game-maker's chief commercial officer, Pekka Rantala, says that "China is an extremely important market" for the company and that Rovio wants to provide "innovative fan experiences by bridging the digital with the physical."
Guogou chairman Yuan Qihong says that his company is eager to drive China's theme park industry with a customer experience not seen before on the mainland.
