A Maritime Silk Road international brand exposition is being held in Quanzhou, east China's Fujian province.
Nearly 400 enterprises from 31 countries and regions are at the first China (Quanzhou) Maritime Silk Road International Brand Exposition, a three-day event which kicked off on Nov 28.
The ancient Maritime Silk Road begins at Quanzhou.
Prasantha Magina Arachchi, managing director of Sonekama Ceylon Tea Ltd., from Sri Lanka, said he was at the event as his company was interested in marketing Sri Lankan tea to China, a famous tea-loving country.
He said the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative is a fantastic opportunity for his company to expand business in China.
Antony Georgakis, head of the Cyprus World Trade Center's marketing and business development head, expressed hope to find Chinese investors interested in establishing businesses in Cyprus.
Michael Gao, international business manager of the local Jomoo Kitchen and Bath Co. Ltd, said Jomoo products had been well received in Asian countries.
Gao is confident China's 21st Century Maritime Silk Road initiative will bring more business opportunities.
