Tianjin Acrobatic Troupe |
The Tianjin Acrobatic Troupe was founded in 1957, as a combination of the former China Acrobatic Troupe and China Circus.
The Troupe has more than 30 representative performances, many of which have won prizes in national and international competitions. For instance, Leather Rope won the silver Clown Award and Circus Art Development Association Award in the 13thMonte Carlo International Circus Festival. Double Poles won the silver Award in the 12thTomorrow International Acrobatic Festival held in Pairs France. Air Acrobatics won the Gold Prize of the 10thSpring of April friendship Art Festival in DPRK. One-hand Handstand seized the Gold Lion Award of the 4thNational Acrobatic Competition; the France Republic President award- the first prize in the 19thTomorrow International Acrobatic Art Festival and the 10thFuture International Acrobatic Art Festival in Pairs, France; the Honorary Gold Lion Award and Artistic Innovation Award in the 5thWuqiao International Acrobatic Art Festival; the Gold Award of the 14thDPRK Spring of April Friendship Art Festival; the 8thWenhua Award for New Performance. Three Men Performance: Cup Rolling won the Gold Lion Award in the 4thNational Acrobatic Competition; the only Silver Prize and Belgium Royal Circus Special Award in the 8thBelgium Turnei Road of Prospect International Acrobatic Festival; Gold Prize in the 14thDPRK Spring of April Friendship Art Award. Women Double Poles won the Silver Lion Award in the 4thNational Acrobatic Competition. In the First Gold Chrysanthemum Cup National Comic Acrobatic Competition, Swan Lake and Comic Music got the Gold and Silver Award respectively. In the 3rdNational Children Acrobatic Competition, Bell Toll in the Pitiao Forest won the Gold Award.
The Acrobatic Troupe has paid performing visits to France, The United States, Japan, Australia, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Italy, Israel, DPRK, ROK, Germany, Belgium, Russia and Hong Kong region, where it was highly praised and warmly welcomed.
Wire Walking, performed by Guo Qingli, won in 1995 Ba Xi award - the most prestigious domestic award issued by the China Acrobatic Association. One-hand Handstand performed by new talent Zhang Ting won several prizes in national and international competitions in the 1990s. Moreover, Sun Qingqing, Liu Yang Wang Chen and other new talents of the Troupe are also prizewinners in both national and international competitions.
