The Memorial Hall of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Former Residence in Cuiheng of Guangdong is located in Cuiheng County of Zhongshan City in Guangdong Province. The residence, a two-storeyed house combining Chinese and the western architectural styles, was designed by Sun Yat-sen himself and was constructed in 1892.
Cultural relics and historical materials related to the 1911 Revolution were gradually collected with the support from some overseas Chinese and relatives and friends of Sun Yat-sen after the memorial hall was completed. The memorial hall now boasts a collection of 68 pieces of Dr. Sun's personal belongings, 1,610 cultural relics and 500 photos, of which 7 pieces are of the national first class.
Since the memorial hall was opened to the public in 1985, it has received visitors of 750,000 person-times. It carries out propaganda and education work with the speech records, newsreels of Sun Yat-sen, recorded voice tour guiding, computer controlled simultaneous projections and so on. The memorial hall has compiledthe Archives of Sun Yat-senjointly with Guangdong Academy of Social Sciences.
