The 2nd Silk Road Int'l Arts Festival
The 2nd Silk Road International Arts Festival kicked off on September 7, 2015, in Xi'an, capital of West China's Shaanxi province. The festival lasted for two weeks, during which artists and companies from 62 countries participated in the festival, almost double in number compared with the first Silk Road International Festival held in 2014.
Jointly sponsored by China's Ministry of Culture and the Shaanxi provincial government, the two-week event included more than 100 performances, 30 cultural lectures, 15 forums and seminars, five international exhibitions and an animation-design competition.
The Arts Festival based on the "One Belt and One Road " strategy of China, adhered to Chinese traditional values "Peace, Harmony and Cooperation", focused on the three main themes - The Cores of Silk Road, Chinese Culture and International Elements and aimed at strengthening cultural communication and promoting connection between people, fully showcasing the world culture diversities and everlasting charm of Chinese Culture.
