In his remarks before the concert, Zhang Shubin, head of the Jilin delegation and director of the Jilin provincial media office, said there is a long history of exchanges between China and South Korea.
"Since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 1992, Jilin province and neighboring South Korea, have maintained a close relationship and fruitful economic and cultural cooperation with South Korean provinces, such as Gangwon and Gyeonggi-do," he said. "The Jilin Cultural Week will become yet another opportunity for the two countries to enhance cultural exchanges and help local people have a deeper understanding of Chinese culture," he added.
