The bitter divorce between Dong Jie and Pan Yueming made headlines in 2012 when the two began arguing during a press conference. Then, in March, in the midst of a lawsuit to divide their possessions, tabloids published photos of Dong passionately kissing her new lover, Wang Dazhi. Gossipers accused Dong of being unfaithful and speculated about love affairs, while widely disapproving Wang's looks (one Internet commenter stated it bluntly: "He's ugly!! Goddess Dong Jie, what's wrong with your taste?")
